A WORKSHOP ON STUDENT RECRUITMENT

On the 3rd and 4th February 2010, two teachers of SMAN 10 Malang were sent to Palembang to join a workshop on Student Recruitment. They were Ms. Endang Setyoningsih and Ms. Tri Luhpalupi. They joined with the principal (Ms. Erma) and some teachers of SMAN Sumatera Selatan Sampoerna Academy and also two officers of the provincial Office of Education (Mr. Tarman and Mr. Herwin) to get the information shared by the scholarship team of Sampoerna Foundation (Mr. Fikri, Mr. Gus De, and Ms. Asri). The workshop took place at BLPT (Balai Latihan Pendidikan Teknik) where the school is now located. During the two-day workshop, the SF team shared their experiences with the whole process of student recruitment in the previous academic year that consisted of the paper-based selection and boot camp (the psychological test, TPA, interview and focus group discussion). At the end of the workshop, teams from Palembang and Malang were expected to understand the whole process of student recruitment and would be able to deal with the problems in the real action.
